A new space dedicated to university students is about to open in the heart of La Spezia.
Starting in July 2026, Palazzo del Ghiaccio will reopen with a new identity: a contemporary residence created for those who study, live the city, and are looking for a welcoming place to call home. The property will accommodate university students for ten months a year, while in the summer it will cater to youth tourism, becoming an international hub and a lively space year-round.
Promoted by Fondazione Carispezia, the redevelopment project will transform one of the city’s historic buildings into a dynamic, shared space open to young people. The property will be managed by the ZOE cooperative.
Ahead of the opening, applications are now officially open for university student accommodation for the 2026/2027 academic year through Fondazione Carispezia’s “PdG Student House” scheme. The full call for applications and the application form are available on this page.
